BRETT MEETS ANNEMARIE:
- - - First Meeting
When we first met, I wasn't really sure why I had agreed to it. I guess I was just intrigued by the whole situation. I had signed myself up to take a couple of ladies on a sightseeing tour of Santa Barbara and LA. Why? I dunno. I knew there was no way I was interested in Annemarie at this point... I already had a list in my mind as to what the woman I was going to date and marry would be like... and Annemarie had already struck out on that list. She was great that weekend and as I left her on Saturday night... my only thought was... that is a really cool girl.
- - - Texas Visit
By the time I got to Texas and spent a little bit more time with Annemarie face to face, we had already had a lot of serious conversations on the computer. She knew I was a Christian and what my faith meant to me... she just wasn't sure about what it all really meant at that point. Spending some more time with her in person, I got to peer deeper into the personality of this cool girl that I had dropped off in LA. There was something about Annemarie... she had a great heart... I could see it when I could see her with people. It's what drew me in before I was really even aware of what was happening. By the time I left Texas on a tour bus... I knew I wanted to spend some more time with Annemarie.
- - - The First Date
Again, I don't know what I was thinking... but I had to meet up with the tour bus for work in Washington DC... so I asked Annemarie if she wanted to go to New York for like a week with me and then catch a train down to DC. It didn't take too much convincing and we were off to spend our first real "date" in NYC. It was my first trip to the Big Apple and one I'll never forget. We caught the Yankees, the U.S. Open, and Times Square... but mostly held hands a lot and talked about everything. It was something we started from a very early point... the freedom to talk openly and honestly about everything. Something that I love about our relationship to this day.
