what to eat

Santa Barbara is a wonderful place to experience all the joys of eating out! Here are just a few of our favorite places.

MEXICAN
Los Arroyos // 14 W. Figueroa St. // 1280 Coast Village Rd.
The Montecito (sit down) location has a more enticing atmosphere, and serves margaritas, but the food at both locations is delicious! This is Annemarie's favorite Mexican place in town and she gets the Tostada Rachero with Steak every time. The fresh pico de gallo and guacamole is amazing too! Yummy!!

Rudy's Restaurant // 6 Locations
There are 6 locations around town. Plug it into your iPhone and pick one! Brett loves this place, and always leaves with extra salsa. His favorite is the chicken combo burrito.

ITALIAN
Pascucci // 729 State St
If you smell garlic when you're walking down State Street, it's coming from Pascucci. Sit out on the street side patio and enjoy some of the best garlic bread, and choose from a nice variety of Italian dishes.

Palazzios // 1026 State St.
Generous portions of pastas and salads. One entree and a half salad is enough to feed up to three people. Every fifteen minutes waiters walk around with freshly baked garlic rolls that are to die for.

BURGERS
The Habit // 216 S. Milpas St. // 628 State St
Stop by for a sidewalk burger, or terriyaki chicken sandwich with grilled onions. The fries are tasty. Yes, it's fast food, but it's local, so you can't find it anywhere outside of Santa Barbara, so try it out!

In-N-Out // 4865 Calle Real
If you're not from California, I guess you might want to stop in at the famous In-N-Out for a burger, or just the experience and to say that you did! Try your burger "animal style" if you're wanting to blend in with the locals.

SANDWICHES
Panino // 834 Santa Barbara St.
You might know how much Annemarie loves sandwiches. Panino has a great variety of sandwiches, and salads, and it's all been yummy.

South Coast Deli // 1436 Chapala
Lots of sandwiches and salads here. All so yummy!! Stop in early for breakfast too!

SUSHI
Sakana // 1046 Coast Village Road
A one of a kind sushi joint in Montecito. Nice atmosphere and large variety of signature box rolls.

Edomasa // 2710 De La Vina // Sun-Thurs 6PM to midnight; Fri-Sat 6PM to 1AM
Late night sushi bar. Kind of hard to find, but worth the hunt. Sit at the bar and watch the chef make your dinner.

HEALTHY
Natural Café // 508 State St. // 5892 Hollister Ave // 11AM-9PM.
If you're looking for something healty, but still tasty, check this place out. Annemarie almost always gets the tuna melt, Brett likes the chicken enchiladas or chicken caesar salad!

Blenders In the Grass // 4 locations around SB
Annemarie is addicted to this place. She goes about 7 times a month, and as hard as she tries to order the "good for you" fruity smoothies....she orders Mocha most of the time. This was one of the places that Brett took Annemarie on her first trip to SB and she hasn't stopped going since. Just pop "Blenders" into your mobile device and head there....now!

OTHER
Santa Barbara Chicken Ranch // 2618 De La Vina St // 11AM to 10PM
The best mesquite bbq chicken and tri-tip in town. Try one of their humungous burritos and enjoy it with the chips and tasty salsa on the side! We stop here on our way back from home group on Wednesday nights quite a bit for a late night superb dinner!

Hungry Cat // 1134 Chapala Street
Stop in this place for happy hour drinks (half price and wonderful) and stay for dinner. If you sit at the bar, say hi to Drake and Owen! They'll entertain and feed you fresh and delicious seafood delights. If you're planning on dinner here, might be good to make a reservation.
